Nos encontramos ante una cancion fantastica, que seguramente pocos conozcan. Lo que nos trae Joi es “Pageant of the bizarre”, pieza del tercer disco de estudio de Zero 7, una banda extremadamente difícil de definir.
El manual diria que esta formada por 2 integrantes: Henry Binns y Sam Hardaker, pero la realidad es que se basan mucho en las contribuciones de otros artistas en las voces. Son ejemplos de ello Sia Farler (a quien Joi hace referencia) y nada menos que el sueco-argentino José Gonzalez. Su historia comienza en 1997 con una excelente interpretación remixada de “Climbing Up The Walls”, ya que los 2 integrantes de Zero 7 eran viejos conocidos de Nigel Goldrich (productor de Radiohead). Ingenieros en sonido, estos dos londinenses fueron capaces de hacer todo tipo de musica a lo largo de su carrera, logrando un respetable suceso debido a su capacidad de adaptación musical, lo que los llevo a componer bandas sonoras para innumerables peliculas, series y programas de televisión.
Escuchemos la version de estudio cantada por Sia Farler, y por que no transportarnos al 18 de octubre de 2009 en la Trastienda con el fantastico video que nos dejo Joi, cantada por Eska Mtungwazi y Olivia Channey (por los nombres se van a dar cuenta enseguida cual es cual!).
