Marcos recomendó este tema porque “es una canción que empuja para arriba! Mientras la escuchas, estas mejor, no hay alternativa! Tiene algo, un "no sé qué", que arranca de repente ahí, un poco antes del estribillo, que hace que la sigas cantando todo el día! las canciones de van halen son así, cambian el ánimo.”
Un tema poderoso, para escuchar un lunes y arrancar bien la semana o, mejor, para ponerlo al palo, después de una ducha, un viernes a la noche antes de salir.
Es verdad, tiene ese “no se que” (como le dice marcos) justo antes del estribillo que te hace imaginar lo que viene y no decepciona para nada, al contrario mantiene la energía hasta el final.
Van Halen es una banda estadounidense de Hard Rock, llamada así por los hermanos Eddie Van Halen y Alex Van Halen. Ambos heredaron el amor por la música de su padre, quien los hizo instruirse en piano clásico. Luego cada uno de los hermanos elegiría su instrumento. Eddie opto por la guitarra mientras que Alex por la bateria.
El primer álbum de la banda está considerado como un hito en la historia del rock. Con este primer estreno, la banda se estableció como un líder en el emergente y desafiante mundo hard rock de los EE.UU.
Eddie, se hizo rápidamente famoso gracias a su técnica y sensibilidad musical. Hoy en día es considerado como uno de los guitarristas de rock más innovadores e influyentes; otros de los rasgos distintivos del grupo en su etapa considerada más clásica, era el estilo versátil y auto paródico de su cantante David Lee Roth, conocido como "Diamond" Dave.
Entre 1978 y 1998 la banda editó 11 álbumes (todos ellos estuvieron entre los 20 mejores de Billboard). La banda ha vendido más de 70 millones de álbumes mundialmente.
Hay que destacar que Van Halen figura en el Libro Guinness de los Récords con la mayor cantidad de Nº 1's en la lista de rock de Billboard.
En cuanto al tema de hoy, Dreams, podemos decir que pertenece al disco 5150, el primero que hicieron, tras la salida de David Lee Roth, con el nuevo cantante Sammy Hagar. Eddie Van Halen comentó al respecto: "perdimos un frontman, pero ganamos un cantante".
Un detalle interesante es el significado del nombre del álbum, el número 5150. Es un código policíaco de California para referirse a una persona dañada mentalmente.
